Steve Jobs

In non-apple user point of view

I bet by now, anyone who has Facebook or Twitter or anything equivalent, has already either watch, hear or read about Steve Jobs final (?) speech. I also bet that many of us were shock with the news and the status or tweet had been flood with condolence wishes for the man described as a true visionary and all.

I also bet that everyone suddenly, uniformly realize the important of living a live that we all love. All thanks to the inspiration given by the late Steve... To be honest, how many of us can claim that they lived the live they wanted to? Having a job they love to do? Its struck me this morning when I was driving to work in the 'abnormal' busy road of KL (its school break for some maybe because of the PMR - Malaysians public Exam for Secondary Schooler- so it wasn't actually as busy as usual...) that, how many of us who face all this traffic every freaking morning, to actually go to the work that they love? For me personally, i don't hate my work, but I can't honestly say that this is what I ever dream of. But well, we can't have so many 'Steve Jobs', aren't we? :p

Having stated before about the 'speech'. The key word was 'death', which caught most of our attention I bet. As if Steve know exactly his time is near, that he chose to talk about it in the manner of praising it as the best ever invention. The point he was making after such a word for death is the important of living significantly to do something we love before our time is come. Nothing wrong at all with the speech. Perfectly suit the great man himself. The way its been quote and been shared on Facebook after his death is even more compelling.

How many of us were desperate to re-quote him yesterday? The words were so powerful its worthy of re-quoting it again and again! Everyone has to be shared about it. The great man had leave so many legacies and apps, so many of us were indebt  with him (even though we actually pay for his products ;p), that we feel how great a loss for the world after his death!

It reminds me of the one and only greater man than him that ever lived in the history. This one man also leave behind a legacies, so many of us also indebt with him, and he also leave behind a 'final speech'! As a Muslim, I wonder, how many of us remember about the Prophet, Muhammad S.A.W final speech? How many of us ever re-quote him? How many of us remember the points his making, let alone word by word been spoken by him? He did leave us the legacy of this world and here after, after all...

In all honesty, me myself didn't remember all of his messages either, make me even more shameful...

But take nothing away from Steve! He was a great man, and his legacies will goes on as time will tell. He is visionary alright, and revolutionize our way of communication and our way of IT lives... As someone who rarely used any Apple product (except the fruit, of course...) I salute him as a great man that dominate the modern world! The prove of his greatness is just how his words were widely spread as if it was his last will, and just how many of us saying good-bye to a person we never ever meet face to face personally...

My sincere condolence for his family...

For me, a none-Apple and average IT user, Steve Jobs will be always remembered as a great man, "a true visionary and creative inspiration", to quote a friend...

For historian, he will be remembered as one of the modern world conqueror, something not even Bonaparte could achieved...

For an avid Apple user however, he will be almost like God, when everything they touch was his!
